Nathan Fox’s Fluorescent Black available for pre-order

Fluorescent Black
Fluorescent Black is the the latest graphic novel illustrated by Kansas City's Nathan Fox.

Kansas City’s Nathan Fox has a new graphic novel, Fluorescent Black, coming this summer from the publishers of Heavy Metal. It will be released in July and a hardbound limited edition will be sold at San Diego and New York Comic Con. It is currently available for preorders. The story was previously serialized in Heavy Metal.

The graphic novel was written by MF Wilson, illustrated by Nathan Fox, and colored by Jeromy Cox. Fluorescent Black is one of the most popular stories featured in the adult illustrated magazine and has a massive cult following. “We are very excited to be publishing Fluorescent Black. This book is like nothing else out there! It’s crazy, original and totally punk,” says Kevin Eastman, Editor-in-Chief of Heavy Metal Magazine.

The novel takes the reader into the hard-hitting dark future of South East Asia where gene-tech has divided the human race into two races. The story features both a utopian and dystopian future that exist in near proximity echoing the border disputes of today. The story touches on themes like public healthcare, gene patenting, eugenics, the dangers of bio-artistry, and the limits of body modification.

In addition to the collecting the Heavy Metal material, Fox says that the graphic novel also features “a ton of new content” including text pages and guest pin-ups. For more information about Fluorescent Black visit www.freethegene.com.
