The announcement was made Saturday at WonderCon in San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a title=\"Jason Aaron to write X-Men: Schim\" href=\"http:\/\/marvel.com\/news\/story\/15551\/wondercon_2011_x-men_schism\" target=\"_blank\">Marvel&#8217;s announcement<\/a>: &#8220;<em>X-Men: Schism<\/em> puts writer Jason Aaron at ground zero as the simmering tensions between Wolverine and Cyclops come to a boil.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In some ways this culminates everything that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been going on in the X-Men universe going back to <em>House of M<\/em>,&#8221; explains Aaron. &#8220;Things have been building towards this for awhile.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The X-Men will divide into two factions, one led by Wolverine and another following Cyclops. While Jason Aaron has been writing Wolverine in his own series and in <em>Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine<\/em>, this is Aaron&#8217;s first opportunity to write the full X-Men team.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never written a team book before.&#8221; Aaron said in a <a title=\"Newsarama interview with Jason Aaron\" href=\"http:\/\/www.newsarama.com\/comics\/x-men-schism-jason-aaron-110402.html\" target=\"_blank\">Newsarama interview<\/a>. &#8220;I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve written a lot of these characters before, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve written Cyclops before, and Emma Frost, but usually as guest stars. So, yeah, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fun getting to tackle the whole group, and not have it be a Wolverine story that guest stars everybody else. This is most definitely an X-Men story.
