Event promoter Craig Klotz has announced that artist Kyle Strahm will be the special guest at KC FanCon #27 on Sunday, September 26. The event hours are 10:00 AM  – 4:00 PM, and it is held at the Plaza Hotel at I-435 and Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, Kansas.

Two Kansas City creators have been announced as nominees for the 2009 Harvey Awards.
Comic book writer Jason Aaron received two nods. His series  Scalped (Vertigo) is up for Best Continuing or Limited Series and Aaron himself is nominated in the Best Writer category.
Cartoonist Bill Amend’s comic strip Foxtrot is in the running for Best Syndicated Strip or Panel.
The Harvey Award winners  will be announced August 28, 2010 in Baltimore, MD, in conjunction with the Baltimore Comic-Con. Nominations for the Harvey Awards are selected exclusively by comics creators – those who write, draw, ink, letter, color, design, edit or are otherwise involved in a creative capacity in the comics field.
Promoter Craig Klotz has scheduled the next KC Fan Con for August 1st, after deciding to cancel the June 27th show. The event will be held at the Plaza Hotel (formerly the Wyndham Garden Hotel) at I-435 and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas. The special guest for the event is artist Mario Mora.
