Planet Comicon: “I Kissed a Nerd” singers to perform

The comedy skit musical group The Damsels of Dorkington is set to appear at Planet Comicon March 26 – 27 in Overland Park, Kansas. The group had a YouTube hit video with their song “I Kissed a Nerd,” a parody of the Katy Perry song “I Kissed a Girl.” The group is scheduled to perform at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 26th, and will be in attendance at the show throughout the weekend.

Two of the four group members were previously in the Willie’s Wenches comedy and music troupe. Willie’s Wenches have performed at the past two Planet Comicon events.

Actors including Lindsay Wagner and Alaina Huffman and comics creators including Tony Harris and Gail Simone will take the stage at Planet Comicon next weekend. Event promoter Chris Jackson has released the schedule of panel events which were developed in collaboration with Kansas City Comics’ own Kirk Chritton.

“We’re very excited about this line-up,” Chritton said. “I think it’s the most star-studded series of panels we’ve had since I got involved with the show four years ago. Plus, we expect to be able to announce some other exciting panelists as soon as confirmations come in.”

Planet Comicon is scheduled for March 26 – 27. The event will be held at the Overland Park International Trade Center. Adult weekend passes are available at the event for $20.

Comic Geek Speak heads to Kansas City

The Comics Geek Speak podcast is coming to Kansas City for Planet Comicon, and got a head start with an episode featuring Planet promoter Chris Jackson and local comics artist Freddie Williams II.

Comic Geek Speak hosts Brian “Pants” Christman and Peter Rios will be attending Planet Comicon, which is scheduled for March 26 – 27. The event will be held at the Overland Park International Trade Center. Adult weekend passes are available in advance for $15 or at the event for $20.
