Freddie Williams presents a video series on breaking into comics

DC Comics artist Freddie E. Williams II posts a regular series of YouTube videos with tips about how to become a professional comic book artist. Williams is the author of  The DC Comics Guide to Digitally Drawing Comics.

Williams is currently wrapping up his run as illustrator of JSA All-Stars from DC Comics. He is a Kansas City native who currently lives in the Missouri suburbs.

Phil Hester Interview

The folks at the Backroom Comics Podcast interviewed comics creator Phil Hester at the 2010 Emerald City ComicCon. Iowa-based Hester, who’s a great friend of this blog and a regular at Kansas City conventions, talks about many of his current projects, including the story of how a “Son of Fin Fang Foom” pitch became Firebreather.

Blue Springs comics shop featured in video
